The Monument

Step inside the most famous bridge in the world...

Tower Bridge Exhibition is the most exciting way to explore the most famous bridge in the world. From the modern high-level Walkways and its spectacular new glass floor to the historic Engine Rooms and towers, Tower Bridge Exhibition tells the history of the bridge and why it came into existence through animations and digital displays.

In the high-level Walkways visitors can experience our biggest and most exciting development to the Exhibition since it originally opened: glass floor panels – a unique viewpoint of London life beneath your feet!

Rather not look down? Visitors can admire stunning panoramic views from the Walkways, spying such popular London landmarks as St Paul's Cathedral and the Monument to the west and St Katharine Docks leading to Canary Wharf to the east, while marvelling at the 40 bridges featured in our 'Great Bridges of the World' refreshed display, each of which represents a breathtaking feat of engineering.

A short bespoke video shown by artist, Stephen Biesty depicting the construction of the Bridge can be enjoyed in the South Tower before wandering down the beautiful staircase, complemented by ‘Battersea to Bermondsey’, LED-lit motion sensitive artworks showing iconic buildings along the Thames.

The experience culminates in a visit to the Victorian Engine Rooms, which houses the original bridge lifting machinery that has been beautifully maintained.
