KS1 Great Fire Study Day

This Study Day for Key Stage 1 pupils has been developed in partnership with our friends at the Guildhall Art Gallery and Culture Mile Learning.

Pupils will meet the extraordinary Dr. Robert Hooke, architect of The Monument, just metres from the spot where the Great Fire began, and will lead the children on a short tour around the base, helping them to understand and engage with its surprising stories and features.

Your group will also have the opportunity to climb the 311 steps to the top, to enjoy fantastic views over the City, and a chance to understand the extent of the Fire's reach.

The day also includes a workshop at Guildhall Art Gallery, mapping out the spread of the Fire and designing their own commemorative monument and a historical walk through the City.
