Take the #StepsChallenge
In September 1730, a wager was made in the Baptist Head Tavern: could anyone run up to the observation gallery at the top of The Monument and back down again in under three minutes?
A challenger accomplished the feat "...in two minutes and a half and two seconds; which is look'd upon as an extraordinary performance of the kind" (Read's Weekly Journal, September 26th, 1730).
Could you make it up and down The Monument's 311 steps in under two minutes 32 seconds? Book your tickets now, take the #StepsChallenge and let us know how you did on Facebook or Twitter.
