Special Edition Great Fire podcast!
Commemorate the 350th anniversary of the Great Fire of London with this special edition podcast in partnership with Londonist Out Loud.
Education Assistant at Tower Bridge and The Monument, David Laird, spent an afternoon with writer and cult podcast producer, N Quentin Woolf, to explore the history of The Monument in the aftermath of the Great Fire of London.
Design your Monument competition
To commemorate the 350th anniversary of the Great Fire of London, we’re delighted to announce the launch of the ‘Design your Monument’ national competition for 6 to 14 year olds.
From 6th August to 15th November 2016, young artists and designers are invited to draw their very own version of The Monument – and the overall winner will receive a framed copy of their design, along with a family ticket to climb The Monument and visit another London landmark, Tower Bridge. Two runners up will also receive a joint family ticket to visit The Monument and Tower Bridge.

Following great success last year, Stairwell Stories is making a return to The Monument this summer.
This exclusive event gives visitors a unique opportunity to come inside The Monument after hours when
at its most atmospheric; and listen to live storytelling sessions for adults, with stories stretching back 350
years to the time of the Great Fire - it promises to be a captivating evening for all.

The Fire Trail
Join us on a treasure hunt around the City!
Starting at The Monument and moving to other landmark locations relating to the Great Fire - collect all the clues and complete the anagram to find the missing treasure and receive your prize.
The full version includes 23 clues and will take approximately one and a half hours to complete. Alternatively, there is a shortened version of eight clues taking approximately 30 minutes - perfect for families.
Entries must be submitted before the closing date of 5th September; after which the winner will be revealed in a random draw. This is a free event taking place between 21st July and 5th September.
FREE ADMISSION FOR GREAT FIRE 350 COMMEMORATION WEEKEND
As part of the GF350 commemorations, The Monument is opening its doors for free! Not only enabling you to climb its 311 steps and experience spectacular views over the City, but also to witness some of the exciting activities taking place, from a unique viewpoint.
The Monument is also extending its opening hours from 8am to 10pm over the weekend of 2 - 4 September inclusive, and as part of the entry you will receive a special-edition ticket.
